She stood dry-eyed, lost in memories. The first time she met their new pilot, and that stupid-looking mustache. Getting to know the man, and enjoying his self-deprecating and sometimes odd sense of humor. Their first date, and his bumbling attempts to impress her. Their first kiss, and the almost reverent way he held her face. The day they were wed, and the pure joy she saw in his eyes.
She reached out her hand and gently stroked the name etched on the grave marker. "Goodbye, my love." The soft whisper faded into the wind, as she turned and walked away.
