Summary: Living forever can be lonely.

 

It's curious, the little bits he remembers.  He can bring up the sound of his father's laughter and the twinkle in his mother's eye, but not their favorite song.  He remembers the faces of his friends from the Time Agency, but not their voices.  He can recall with absolute clarity the details of his first mission with Torchwood, but not the name of his partner. 

He remembers the lost, but the living fade into darkness.

He stares at the person lying next to him, and wonders what bits of this lovely man he will remember in the years to come.
