Summary: I really liked Donna.  I didn't think I would, but she grew on me.  It made me sad to think of her not happy.  This drabble grew out of that, and from listening to Switchfoot's This is Your Life many, many, many times.

He peers over his paper at the woman entering the room.  She races around--a whirlwind of energy, almost reminiscent of another time, another life.

 A joyful shout, an earring found, and she's about to exit the room, eager to start her new, not-a-temp job.

 "Donna..."

 She stops and turns back around, a touch of impatience in her voice.  "Yeah, Gramps?"

 He swallows the question he wanted to ask.  Are you happy?   "G'luck with the new job."

 She smiles at him, a genuine smile.  "Thanks."

 And she's out the door, ready to begin a new chapter in her new life.
